La Tramun is and has always been more than a mountain bike race. For those who participate, it has become a personal challenge. Its trails, its difficulty, its beauty… have made it unique.
The number and the level of participants have increased year after year, thanks to the care we take of the organizational aspects from the very first day, and thanks to the large group of collaborators that make it possible.
.
NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
La Tramun has a unique and special character marked by the exceptional landscapes of the Catalan regions, La Garrotxa, La Selva and El Gironès, where the race takes place, and where we recover ancient and for long time hidden tracks.
La Tramun is not only a race, it is a passion, it is an act of love to our landscapes and to the people who learn to love them too, when they discover all their beauty.

LA TRAMUN – REFERENCE OF MOUNTAIN RACES IN CATALONIA
La Tramun is known by its well prepared or even re-done singletracks, made to make the riders enjoy their sport to the maximum.
Some years, after the race, we hear that this edition cannot be overcome, and that the next edition of La Tramun won’t be as good. But the technical director of the race, Fidel Freixes, surprises us, year after year, discovering new places with new singletracks. This makes La Tramun a special race, since for a lot of bikers it’s a classic that nobody wants to miss. But to enjoy it you have to be really well-prepared and have a high physical and technical level.
This race was born in Salt, founded by an entity that works with young people, the TRAMUNTANA club, and the obsession of one of its founders, Josep Maria Ripoll, to unite Olot and Girona only by mountain tracks. From the very start Fidel Freixes, an outstanding cyclist and personality, and one of the big promoters of mountain biking in Girona, and also in Spain, joins the project, and with him a group of people who love cycling and the mountains. Later, they will join the BTT Fornells cycling club, the organizing club of the race for the last 15 years, lead by Jaume Boix.
.
ORGANIZATION
Like a well-oiled machine, all members of the organization work as a team under the expert management of Fidel Freixes, who best defines the spirit of this race. The organization counts with more than 100 collaborators, who make LA TRAMUN possible by cleaning the trails, preparing the track, putting the signs up, promoting the race, attending logistics, serving drinks and food, etc.
This year there have been perfectly signed 78 Km of track, with a total of 6 provisioning points. Tons of material was moved and more than 10 vehicles were needed. It also has been necessary to hire four buses and two trailers in order to bring the competitors and their bikes to the start line in Olot. Ambulances, police support, an excavator to make the kids track, tents, fences, inflatable arches, etc…
At the finish area in Sant Gregori, all the information about the race was delivered, and family and friends could find out about the competitors in real time, through social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
